The rights statement a delivered picture carries inside its file, in the fields the IPTC Photo Metadata Standard defines and that image search engines, DAM systems and photo editors read: the copyright notice, the creator, the credit line, the usage terms and a web page stating the rights. Written as XMP by SetRightsMetadata(ImageRightsMetadata); PNG, JPEG, WebP and TIFF carry it.

How the picture must be credited (IPTC "Credit Line", XMP photoshop:Credit).

UsageTerms

The terms the picture may be used under (IPTC "Rights Usage Terms", XMP xmpRights:UsageTerms).

WebStatement

An absolute http(s) address of a page stating the rights (IPTC "Web Statement of Rights", XMP xmpRights:WebStatement): the link image search engines show as the licence.
